April Fools!!!

For April Fools this year, I made a "Chicken Pot Pie" for dinner.

The April Fools part was the peas where Green Apple Airheads, the corn and carrotts were Starbursts. The Potatos and Chicken was banannas and White Chocolate. and the Gravy was pudding.

It was pretty fun to watch the kids take the first bite. I laughed and boy did I need a good laugh.


And then for dessert we had "Chocolate Pie with Stawberry Frosting"

Which was really Meatloaf and Mashed Potatos (with mashed up beets for the coloring).



Kaitlyn loves frosting, so it was hilarious to watch her eat a mouth full of potatos expecting it to be frosting. I wish I had pictures of the kids reaction, but then they would have known something was up and it wouldn't have been near as fun.

For a drink, Kaitlyn made jello and put it in cups, so when everyone drank their "Kool aid" it was stuck to the bottom of the cup.

All in all, we had a great time playing jokes on each other all day.

Peanut Butter Boy!!

Since the moment Carter was mobile he tries to take care of his own needs. When he would get hungry if I wasn't nearby to help him he would go straight to the garbage can and look for food.

In fact, one day I was helping the little girl I tend take care of an "accident" when Caroline came running into the bathroom yelling that Carter had gotten into the garbage can. I ran into the kitchen to find that he was laying on his belly eating the leftover burritos from the night before. (Ahhhhh!)

So I learned from that moment. We now have hair ties on all our cupboard doors. For some reason he can work around the childproof things, but can't quite figure out the hair ties......YET!

So Carter has decided to take on more extreme measures. He noticed that his Dad left the Peanut Butter container out after making a sandwich and he was on a mission.

He got a chair and pushed it over to the counter and was in absolute heaven. He was so proud of himself. I could not resist taking a few pictures before cleaning him up.

Rice Krispie Treats, Ryan Style!!

Ryan helped me make rice krispie treats the other day..................

..........Well they ended up looking good. Isn't that all that matters anyway???

Cute Activity Days Project

I just got called to teach the 8-9 year olds and do Activity days too!!

This has been such a fun calling.

I absolutly love the girls and I get to teach Kaitlyn

which is such a great blessing.

Yesterday we had activity days

and I wanted to come up with an idea that will help motivate the girls

to get their Achievment Award before they turn twelve.

So I went to www.sugardoodle.net and found this fabulous idea;

I am so excited about.

The three daisies represent the three areas of accomplishments

(Developing Talents, Serving Others, Living the Gospel)

They are required to pass off eight goal in each area.

So everytime they pass off a goal they color in a petal with a fabric pen.

The 13 stones represent the 13 Articles of Faith they need to memorize.

And the five hearts represent the goal for being prepared for Young Womens

Each one they pass off we iron on a rhinstone.

We encourage them to put thier Faith in God book,

Scriptures, and a jounal inside thier bag and get it out every night before

bed and take about 15-20 min. writing in thier journal,

reading thier scriptures, or working on thier goals.

If you have a daughter that is of activity day age.
I totally recommend making this bag for them.
My girls are so excited to get working on thier goals,
so the next time we meet they can
add to thier bag.

It also helps them develop great habits.

To make them,
You will need:

1 canvas tote bag
1 transfer paper
iron on rhinestones
a fabric pen
Iron
piece of cardboard.

To make:

1. go to www.sugardoodle.net and get the template
I did have to download some fonts
to my computer, they are on the
website too.
(If you have trouble downloading,
just google how to download fonts.)

2. Print the template onto transfer paper.
(make sure you print the mirror image,
there was a t-shirt transfer print
option on my computer or
select mirror image print option)

3. Heat iron on highest setting.

4. Put a piece of cardboard inside the bag.

5. Center the transfer on the bag and
iron for about 7-8 minutes.

6. peel the transfer paper off and Wa La!!

7. Decorate the bag as the girls pass off thier goals.

Dawson Joseph Lindstrom

My sweet nephew returned to our Heavenly Father Tuesday night.

He will be missed tremendously.

Dawson was a fighter from the beginning.

He had over 40 surgeries in his short 4 1/2 years of life.

Dawson was blessed with fantastic parents who loved him

and helped him experiance a wonderful life.

My little Angel, Dawson,
I will miss your loves and snuggles so much.

It was so easy to feel the Spirit when you were near.

You helped my testimony of Jesus Christ grow so much.
Thank you for your service and sacrifice.

I am so grateful to know of Heavenly Father's plan.

I look forward to the day I see you again.

I love you, D.

'The Fast and Delirious' Las Vegas Ragnar - 2009

What a great experiance. I was so glad that my friend, Debi invited me to run with her and her team. I met a lot of awesome people and completed a challenge which has left me eager and excited to meet new challenges.

Yep! Thats right, I was running throught the Valley of Fire and it was HOT!!!


Here are the runner's that made up car #2
Stacy, Dave, Me, Debi, and Julieen. We also had Chris, who is not in the picture because he was running his heart out up a giant hill at the moment. (poor thing)

Here we are at the exchange station our cars turn was over and car #1 was starting their second runs. This a me and Troy.

Troy handed off to me in the relay. He was the last to run in car #1 and I was the first to run in car #2.

He got in a 4-wheeler accident a few days before the race and hurt his shoulder pretty bad, but determined to run anyway he made a sling out of bandana's and took some loratab and hoped for the best........I guess that's one of the many reasons why we were called

This is Chris. Its all thanks to him we had a place to get some sleep during the night. He lives in Vegas and let us crash at his house for a few hours while van #1 was running their final runs.

The finish line. Yea!!! We made it through the TOUGHEST fun ever! Our team at the finish line. With the exception of Chris and another Vegas runner, who had family things going on and had to cut out early.

Kaitlyn's Baptism

On September 5th, Kaitlyn got baptized. We are so proud of her. She is growing up to be such a beautiful girl, not only on the outside, but the inside as well.

We are so proud of the choices she is making and her willingness to always help out. She is such a great friend to others and is always looking for ways to make others feel good inside.

Kaitlyn, we as your parents are so proud of you. And I know that your Father in Heaven and Jesus Christ are also very proud of you. You are a very special girl and I feel so blessed to be your Mommy.

I love you more than all the fishies in the sea.
More than all the stars in the sky.
And more than all the blades of grass in all the land in all the world. :)!!

Kaitlyn was so excited to have her Daddy baptize her. Ryan did such a great job. It was so cute when she got baptized, Ryan took her all the way down- nearly to the bottom. I guess he wanted to make sure they only had to do it once.

Ryan confirmed Kaitlyn and gave her the gift of the Holy Ghost.

What a blessing it was to be there for that, Ryan did such a great job and the blessing he gave to Kaitlyn afterward was amazing.

Ryan blessed her to always be a leader among her friends and to never be scared or worried to stand up and make the right decisions.

He told her that Heavenly Father knew her and was pleased with her.

He told her she brought a special spirit to our home and to always remember to read her scriptures daily. And to look to her Mother as an example to follow.

These two can't till they are old enough to be baptized. Only 4 more years girls!!

What a great example you are setting for your brothers and sister, Kaitlyn.

That night we went over to the park and had a BBQ. We had to postpone the Slip N Slide Party because it was getting to dark- Be we still had a great time.

We also had Birthday Cake to celebrate Kaitlyn's birthday with the family.

Kaitlyn had a wonderful day. And when she got home she wrote down in her journal her experiance of her baptism day. This is what she wrote:

"I got baptized today. I felt different after I got out of the water. I got the Holy Ghost today and I get to live with Jesus and Heavenly Father again. And I felt happy and good inside. And my Dad confirmed me to."
